Camping Gear

Intro

For Scouts to have a warm and dry time at any winter camp and hike, the following is a list of personal gear needed. This is in addition to the clothes they will wear as they travel to camp.

The youth should pack their own bags, so they are aware of all the contents. We cannot stress enough the importance of this point, as we don’t want them to unpack all their backpack trying to find a small thing and they don’t know if they have it or not.

Other than cameras, there are no electronic devices to be brought to the camp, this includes personal gaming, cell phones and MP3 players. Any of these devices found will be confiscated. Scouters are not responsible for any loss or safe keeping of Cameras and other similar devices.

Winter Camps – Personal Gear List

  1. Dress for cold weather. Dress up in layers, ready for the crispy cold morning, then warm at noon and while hiking or doing activity then chilly again during the afternoon. So, layers (t-shirt, hoodie, winter jacket, hat, gloves) will help them take off a layer and stay comfortable.
